Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures

So what is that saying...Boredom breeds creativity? Cold weather generates obnoxious behavior? Sharpies are at the root of all evil deeds? This masterpiece was created by......ready for it?

Daryl.

I have to admit, it actually looks pretty cool in person. The mustache and beard have an authentic look to them while the glasses silhouette Jack's blue eyes perfectly. The thing you aren't able to see, other than my complete shock at my husbands sense of humor, is the flames that are drawn on the back of this contraption. Plus it has Jack's name emblazoned on the front in case he forgets who he is.

I'm thinking it is Harry Potter meets Salvador Dali meets Evil Knievel.

The boys just think it's cool

The Wagons Are Circling!

Currently, My 3 Sons are running circles around me. Literally. Ok, only 2 of my sons are doing the running, but Joey may as well be. In a rhythmic exercise session, they are running through the living room, kitchen, hall, and back again. "Hi Mom!", "Hi Mom!", "Don't push me!", "I'm beating you!", "NO YOU'RE NOT!". BOOM! "WAAAAAA! I KICKED THE WALL!!"

They are like caged animals frothing at the mouth to get outside. And I am eagerly waiting for the day when, at 6:00 am, when one of them decides to grace us with his presence, I can open the door, and gently "relocate" them to the front yard. All without fear of frostbite and windburn. I imagine juiceboxes growing from the trees just WAITING to be picked without any help from mom. Or fishy crackers sprouting up in droves, just in time to calm a preschoolers snack quest.

Ok, so the snack thing will always be my job, but at least I can look forward to the blissfull quiet that comes from the exhaustion of 2 boys running for hours. OUTSIDE.

Our House Is Falling Down

So I heard this sound...it sounded like a 10 ton truck rumbling towards our house. Daryl and I looked at each other and talk about taking cover, but decided to try to find the sound first. Nothing in the kitchen....it sounded more like down the hall...it is getting louder. James and Jack's room? Nope. Wait, it is louder by Joey's room. Dear lord, something is destroying Joey's room. We open the door and......

Joey is kicking his crib. Hard enough to move the whole thing 6 inches from where it started. He sure does seem to be enjoying himself though!

James In The Dog House

Welcome to our new blog! We decided to start this for a few reasons - we really want to document the funny, sweet and memorable things that our boys do on a daily basis and we really want to share them with you!

Last night was a perfect example. I was checking on Jack and Daryl was checking on James, when we both went to find the other to show them how silly the boys were. Jack was fast asleep (pink cheeks and drool...love it!) with a HUGE roll of duct tape under his shirt. He got to go to breakfast with Grammy and Grampy yesterday and they took him to a store where he insisted he needed a roll of duct tape. Apparently, he loved it so much he couldn't part with it to sleep.

James was sleeping on our bed (long story) and has, in the past, used all of my pillows to build a "house". Every night when we come in to put him to bed, it is a maze of pillows and blankets, but last night was the mother of all houses. He decided to use Joseph's play mat (that has a overhead bars to attach toys to) as a house, and surrounded it with pillows. When I saw this I had to leave the room because I was laughing so hard. Seriously, it was like a fortress. We had to dismantle most of it to take the picture, but I'm sure you get the idea.

By the way, to leave a comment, scroll to the bottom of the most current entry and click on "comments", or click on the envelope to send me an email. You can also sign up to be emailed when there is an update to the blog. Let me know what you think and if I need to make any changes. Thanks!

Jacky Loves His Teacher

Jacky had his first real school event this week. Rainbow Preschool had a school carnival. I signed up to run the Lollipop Tree, and the boys thought it was the coolest thing ever. James sat in one chair and took tickets, with Jack in the other handing out prizes. I was supposed to be the only one working - they were going to enjoy the carnival, but Daryl was running late from work. They didn't get to stay long...Daryl looked at me 10 minutes after he got there and said "I can't handle 3 of them!" which I found extremely funny, since I am with them 7 days a week.

To donate to the carnival (which never actually made it there) we bought this little stuffed snowman that will record Jacks voice and play it back. We had a lot of fun making this little creature say things like "Jacky, Mommy loves you!" and "Mommy, Jack loves you!". But I think the cutest one was for his preschool teacher. Currently, and hopefully for quite some time, it says "I LOVE MRS. BENTS, I LOVE MRS. BENTS!"
